Sports injury physiotherapy

Whether an injury started suddenly or developed through repeated training, the aim is to understand both the symptoms and the demands of your chosen activity. Peak describes experience with running, football, rugby, swimming, skiing, cycling and resistance training.

Every patient is different. We consider your symptoms, health history, movement and what you need to return to, rather than applying a standard treatment routine.

What we can assess

The following examples illustrate the kinds of problems commonly discussed in this service. Your practitioner will confirm suitability at assessment.

  • Tendon-related pain, including Achilles and elbow presentations
  • Muscle strains and sport-related joint injuries
  • Knee pain, shoulder pain and return-to-sport concerns

This information is general and is not a diagnosis. Urgent or worrying symptoms should be assessed through an appropriate medical service.

What to expect

From first assessment to rehabilitation.

01

Assessment

Your appointment may include a discussion of training load and injury history, movement screening, range-of-motion assessment and strength testing. Sport-specific demands can inform rehabilitation goals.

02

Treatment and advice

Care may combine education, appropriate hands-on treatment and a graded exercise programme. Progression is guided by how you respond, with practical advice on training modification and return to activity.

03

Review and progression

Monitor response, adapt exercise and activity, and review progress towards goals that are realistic for your individual situation.
