Frequently asked questions

What to expect, what to bring and how to book a physiotherapy appointment.

What happens at my first physiotherapy consultation?

Your practitioner will discuss your symptoms, medical history and goals, then carry out relevant movement and strength assessments. Where appropriate, the appointment also includes treatment, advice and an exercise plan.

What should I bring?

Please bring any relevant GP or consultant letters and imaging reports. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and the affected area to be assessed.

Do I need a GP referral?

Many private physiotherapy appointments can be self-booked. If using health insurance, check your insurer’s rules and authorisation requirements before booking.

Do you accept private medical insurance?

The website references Bupa, AXA Health, WPA, Aviva, Cigna and Vitality. Cover and payment terms vary, so please confirm your insurer and authorisation with the clinic before attending.

Where is the clinic?

The current contact page lists 4 Beech Industrial Centre, Porters Wood, St Albans AL3 6PQ. This address should be reconfirmed before the new site is launched.
