Back and neck pain physiotherapy

Back and neck pain can affect sleep, work, exercise and everyday confidence. Peak describes treating work-related musculoskeletal discomfort, posture-related concerns, sciatica and persistent pain using an individual approach.

Every patient is different. We consider your symptoms, health history, movement and what you need to return to, rather than applying a standard treatment routine.

What we can assess

The following examples illustrate the kinds of problems commonly discussed in this service. Your practitioner will confirm suitability at assessment.

  • Low back pain and stiffness
  • Neck discomfort and work-related symptoms
  • Persistent pain affecting activity and daily routines

This information is general and is not a diagnosis. Urgent or worrying symptoms should be assessed through an appropriate medical service.

What to expect

From first assessment to rehabilitation.

01

Assessment

Your clinician will discuss symptoms, relevant medical history, work and activity demands, and assess movement, strength and any clinically relevant neurological signs. Further medical assessment may be recommended when indicated.

02

Treatment and advice

Depending on your presentation, management may involve reassurance, movement advice, progressive exercise, activity modification and hands-on treatment where appropriate. The aim is to improve function rather than promise a quick fix.

03

Review and progression

Monitor response, adapt exercise and activity, and review progress towards goals that are realistic for your individual situation.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring any relevant referral letters, medical reports or scan results you already have, and wear clothing suitable for examining the affected area.
